Too Funny!

I like to shop for shoes by myself or with a friend. Bringing kids in toe is usually not desirable, but it is the most likely scenario. Thank goodness for the world wide web!

I have a pair of favorite shoes. Everyone who knows me has probably seen them on many occasions over the past 10 years. The shoe repair store has rebuilt my favorite shoes many times. But, I think it's finally the end of the road. I need to at least find another pair to switch out once in awhile.

In searching online this weekend, I came across something funny. I'll let everyone explore for themselves. Here's the link. Too funny!

Secret Mission

Matthew plays with Tinker Toys everyday and invents all sorts of things. He started playing with them about a year and a half ago, but after awhile he only had a few pieces in his starter set left. The wood pieces kept breaking at the ends from so much use.

At Christmas, he got a new set from his grandmother...a Super Set with 250 pieces...with things like tires, joints and plastic shapes that we'd never seen before. All told, he probably spends a couple of hours a day building with Tinker Toys now.

This is one of his latest inventions. I've committed treason by posting it, since it was a "Secret Mission". I guess it wasn't totally treason, since the final model had components that are not pictured here.

However, I did overhear some critical information about what this thing is and how it works. This invention is called the "Magic Boat". The small, lower spinning thing pushes air into the larger spinning thing, which allows it to sail into the air like Mary Poppins.

He held it up and ran from room to room in order to demonstrate it's capabilities. Very fascinating contraption. Very fascinating child.
